Google Business Profile Attributes: Check What Customers Can Expect

Guidance checked on 12 October 2026.

A customer may choose a business because it offers outdoor seating, a particular payment option or an accessibility feature. An incorrect detail can turn a routine visit into a frustrating one. Use this practical check to make your profile reflect the location as it operates today.

Start with the options your profile actually offers

Available attributes vary by business category and country, and can change over time. Do not treat a competitor’s list as a template for your location. Google distinguishes supported attribute choices from the values already selected for a business. [2]

Make a short list of the fields visible in your own profile. Assign each one to someone who can confirm the answer on site. This evidence log is our suggested working method, not a Google requirement.

Check the customer experience before choosing an answer

For each detail, record the current claim, what you checked, the date and who will resolve any mismatch. For example, test the guest Wi-Fi as a visitor would, confirm payment methods with the person responsible, and inspect whether advertised outdoor seating is currently usable.

For accessibility details, read Google’s definition of the specific attribute before answering. An entrance, restroom and seating area are separate features. [1] If you are unsure, arrange an on-site check instead of guessing from a photograph or a general description.

Save only information you can support

Google’s current editing path is Edit profile, then More. Open the relevant attribute group, select the applicable answer and save. Some attributes are informed by customer contributions rather than being directly editable by the business. [1]

Have the person responsible review the proposed changes before saving. A hypothetical example: if a cafe’s terrace is no longer available, the team should investigate the outdated outdoor-seating claim and correct the editable field to match reality.

Verify the public result

After saving, check the customer-facing profile in Search and Maps. Compare what is displayed with your evidence log. A saved edit and a confirmed public result are separate checkpoints; keep a record of both.

If the result does not match, first confirm that you edited the intended location and inspect any status shown in the management interface. Avoid repeatedly submitting conflicting answers. Keep the exact field, observed result and date ready if further help is needed.

Give each detail an owner

Recheck after renovations, changes to facilities or payment arrangements, and customer feedback that identifies a mismatch. For several branches, maintain a separate log for each location rather than copying every answer across the business.

A useful final test is simple: could a colleague explain the selected answer to a customer using current evidence? Accurate details support clearer expectations; this checklist promises neither rankings nor a particular review outcome.
